How can we help with Scora?

Most questions are answered below. If yours isn't, write to us and the Scora team will get back to you.

Common questions

What kind of sheet music does Scora read?

Printed notation: piano, vocal and choir scores, band and orchestral parts, lead sheets with lyrics. Handwritten scores, guitar tablature and chord-only charts are not supported. Clean, well-lit pages give the best results; Scora warns you before uploading a blurry page.

What happens when a note is read wrong?

Open Fix mode, tap the note and correct it: move it by a semitone or an octave, change its duration, add or remove an accidental, or make it a rest. Scora keeps the measure arithmetically valid, plays the corrected bar straight away and keeps the original scan so you can always revert.

Can I hear only my part?

Yes. Each staff has mute and solo buttons and its own instrument, so a choir singer can isolate the alto line and a pianist can practise one hand while hearing the other.

Which formats can I export?

MIDI, MusicXML, PDF of the engraved score, an audio file rendered at your tempo, key and mutes, and a PDF of the original captured pages. Everything goes through the system share sheet, so Files, Mail, AirDrop and messaging apps all work.

Is Scora free?

The metronome, tuner, note trainer and a sample score with every feature are free. Scanning and exporting are part of Scora Pro, which includes a fair-use page allowance each period — most pieces are two to six pages.

Where do my scans go?

Page images are sent through our own server to a recognition service that converts them to MusicXML. The images are never stored on our server, the service's copy is deleted as soon as the result is back, and nothing is used to train models. Your scores and edits live only on your device.

Subscriptions and purchases

Cancel or change a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought them from. Deleting the app does not cancel them.

Restore a purchase

Reinstalled the app or switched phones? Open Scora, tap Restore Purchases and use the same Apple ID or Google account you paid with.

Refunds

Refunds are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies; we cannot issue them ourselves.

Delete your data

Request it from the app

In Scora, open the contact form in Settings, choose “Data Deletion Request” as the topic and send it. Messages from the app reach us together with the ID your data is stored under, so we can find and delete exactly your data. On an older version without that topic, pick any topic and write that you want your data deleted.

What happens next

We email the address you gave in the form to confirm the request. Once you confirm, your usage data, your subscription record and the messages you sent us are deleted within 30 days, and we let you know when it is done.

Good to know: Purchase records are kept by Apple and Google under their own policies. Crash reports are deleted automatically within 90 days. Scora does not ask you to create an account, so your data is tied to a random ID the app creates on your device, not to your name or email. If you have already deleted the app, that ID went with it and the remaining data can no longer be linked to you.
