What is Steno?
Steno is an AI voice note-taking app for iPhone, built by Vidus6. It records lectures, meetings and voice memos and turns them into an accurate transcript, a summary, flashcards, a quiz, and a chat you can ask questions to.
Is Steno free?
Yes — Steno is free to download and includes a monthly amount of AI transcription. Steno Pro unlocks more transcription time and the full study toolset for people who record every day.
How accurate is the transcription?
Steno uses advanced AI to produce word-for-word transcripts and even labels different speakers, so meetings and lectures stay easy to follow. The audio is transcribed automatically after you finish recording.
Is my data private?
Your recordings are stored only on your device and Steno never asks you to create an account. Audio is sent securely to our AI provider solely to generate your transcript — it is never sold, shared, or used for anything else.
What can Steno do with my notes?
Beyond the transcript, Steno automatically creates a summary with key points and key terms, flashcards, a multiple-choice quiz, and a chat that answers questions about your note. You can also translate any note and export it as a PDF.
Can I cancel Steno Pro anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your Steno Pro subscription anytime in the App Store, and you keep access until the end of your billing period.
Subscriptions and purchases
Cancel or change a subscription
Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought them from. Deleting the app does not cancel them.
Restore a purchase
Reinstalled the app or switched phones? Open Steno, tap Restore Purchases and use the same Apple ID or Google account you paid with.
Refunds
Refunds are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies; we cannot issue them ourselves.
Delete your account and data
Delete it in the app
In Steno, open your account settings and tap Delete Account. Your account and the data saved to the cloud are deleted right away.
If the app is not installed
Fill in the form below with your account's email address and choose “Data deletion request” as the topic. To make sure the account is yours, we send a confirmation email to that address. Once you confirm, we delete your account and its data within 30 days and let you know.
Go to the formGood to know: Purchase records are kept by Apple and Google under their own policies. Crash reports are deleted automatically within 90 days.
